I need help with a scone.

I got this for an assignment. To draw out the picture above using Photoshop. It doesn't have to be accurate. Maybe somewhere around there. And I have no idea how to colour the scone. Can someone help me with this? Prolly some pictures would help too. Thanks alot in advance.

I would use Burn/Dodge with a low hardness brush for "colour" it, heres some images
