I am terrible at photoshop and have been trying everything and scouring the internet for ideas. There is something about my company's logo that is just off. We hired somebody to do it and I am in the process of trying to force him to make the changes but I don't want to pay him anything additional. I am attaching the photoshop file and you can see how ive been trying to use overlays and sharpening but there is still blurriness. The letters seem blurry and are really pixalated and the logo box with the H in it also just seems weird. Please help oh gods of photoshop! Please help! :banghead:

Is this the original psd he gave you? Is there a larger one? It is very incomplete and from it, we can only totally recreate it. It is pretty poor quality. I don't know why it should be so blurry when it is done at 300 res.

In any event, I'm no my way out the door so maybe later. Meantime, hold tight and see what others say as they come around.

that is the photoshop file i created from the jpeg i attached. yes i know, my admin guys are idiots because they paid money and only got jpeg's and tifs. Ill attach tiff now.. oh apparently i cant damn

You need to re do everything....You cannot unring the bell. This is just too blurred....

Looks like the high pass filter was used, top layer is greyed out.

Nothing we could do any better with a tiff. If you don't get the psd file, like Mike said, it's start over time. Even with it . . . I'm sorry about that. We'd love to think we're miracle workers, and we are of course lol, but there are limits!

So where do we go next?

Incidentally, it is a pretty simple logo to reproduce; simpler than fixing probably. We'll need the name of the font if we don't have it and that's about it. But then the questions are, should this be in freelance and do you want the exact same design?

Here, Merry Christmas. It's not the same font and some effects are different, but see what you think.

Here's the jpeg. You can of course change the appearance by altering the fx.

For instance, remove the inner shadow and the letters will appear more crisp, especially the "H" as I did here:
