Alright guys and ladies,
I'm in a bit of a situation here with a client and I'm unsure of how to handle it.
Over the last few days I've been tasked to create 8 logos, and what's bothering me is that my client has taken images off of Google and wants me to copy (almost exactly with a few minor changes) these samples they are sending me so it can be used in a presentation that this person is stressing to prepare for next week. Essentially, my client is running out of time and now needs someone to do the logos quickly. My concern are the legal stipulations behind what I've been told to do. I recently graduated from school and wasn't taught to copy stock photos because of the seriousness of the legalities if something was done wrong that infringed on copyrights. I don't know if the images are royalty-free images or not, but I'm just looking for advice. I'd rather walk away and lose the client forever than risk getting pounded for copyright infringement and paying who knows what with money I don't have. Does anyone have advice on what I should do?
Regards,
E
