Well, title says it all. I am brand new to Photoshop and don't know much. Most of the time I watch tutorial videos and try to reproduce the results, some are good, some are terrible, lol.

Anyways, hopefully I can one day end up contributing here and helping out, until then I'm the one in need of help :P
 
Hi friedgizmo and welcome to PSG. I started exactly where you are now not so long ago and I can tell you that your on the right track! I learned by doing at least three to five tutorials a day no matter what the subject is. You will always learn something new.

Now I only do a couple tuts per day. In fact I'm doing one as we speak on video animation!

If it weren't for the internet and people who are willing to share their knowledge, the learning curve would be much larger!

However, I did fail to mention that without this forum, I would still be wandering the barren wasteland of Photoshop ignorance.......well, sometimes I still do! That's why I need this place, I can always find answers that can't be found anywhere else right here! Not nearly enough can be said about experience and that's what available here!

Indeed! I've been using Photoshop for about 3 days now and I must say, coming from absolutely NOTHING to today I've improved a lot. I am still a complete idiot to be honest, but now I am a Level 5 Idiot :)
 
Don't be so hard on yourself, your a level 5 learner. You seem to have the desire and, as you stated, the focus........you will get there.

Our own Aunty Clare says, Patience, Practice, Persistence............ or is it Perseverance, Practice, Play........I forget.
 
Ahahah, they both work! Gotta have fun with it.

I am hard on myself but, I think it is for the better. If I say, "oh well, whatever." I'll never learn. I do prefer Level 5 Learner over Level 5 Idiot though, positive outlook!
