Illustrator I have a problem with shadows in illustrator

I have built a project of illustrator cs6, in illustrator cs5
illustrator cs6 saved the appearance properties of the shadows as a separate layer
can anyone tell me how to delete a part of this level of shadows
the eraser does not work
(sorry for the spelling errors but I do not know how to speak good English)

If you want the drop shadow on a separate layer, expand the appearance, then ungroup.

I want to edit the layer with the eraser,
I mean the level with the shadows that are already separated

The drop shadow isn't a path so you can't edit with path tools, it's actually an image. I'd copy the image then paste it into Photoshop and work on it there.
