I might sound like a newbie but in a prank post y'all changed the color of a house without changing the texture of it. How did y'all do that?

Well, without seeing the actual image it's hard to know for sure, but it was probably done with something in the image>adjustments menu, hue and saturation maybe. They also could have overlayed the new colour on a new layer and used layer blending modes to bring the texture of the house through. I'm sure there are at least a couple other ways I'm not thinking of at the moment, but I would do it using either of the methods I mentioned.

Do you have a link to the image in question? I might be able to tell what was done if I see it.

That post.... lol.. I'll leave iDad to answer that... if he doesn't mind sharing his trade secrets.... LOL.... stingy...... lol...

There are many ways tho.... most favorite would be creating a mask over the house face and sections you want to paint and applying non-destructive adjustment layers .... hue/saturation , levels , brightness contract.

I didnt save it but I believe I >duplicated layer> copied the house siding only and used the color overlay mode on the sections selected ...changed the color to pink first then the mode As DV8 said there are so many ways to do it if I remember right it only took a few minutes to do

Nice, yea I was thinking it prob had something to do with making the siding it's own layer. I'll have to try that out sometime. I don't really think I'd ever have to use it but good to have some fun with. I mostly do layouts for webpages. Thanks for the advice tho.
