but I give up too easily. If i can't find it in the help file, or anywhere else online, I come here and ask.

Ok, so I'm not the brightest bulb in the lamp, but please indulge me as you have so many times before.

I'm trying to get the white area in the hopefully attached pic to show as html pages. I know I need the graphic for my site to be on a webpage. I know I either need to slice the page or make a hotspot/imagemap cutout. But am not sure why I cna't get it to work.

I've tried what I thought was everything I read inthe help pages, but am back at square one.

Any suggestions?

Do I need to post more info/graphics to explain deeper?

Thanks,
Ric

If I understand correctly what you are looking to achieve here PS won't do it. You can make the template in photoshop but to add a text block you probably would be wise to consider a Java script for this

check out this linf for free code that might be what you need

:D :D

Ric, my knowledge of IR is limited to say the least, but from what I've played around in it, for the kind of formatting you want (with the html embedded within the image - scrollable, etc.) you'll need to make use of either (and I know this will make some folks cringe) frames, or scripts as Rick suggested with a combination of style sheets. Frames will be a quick fix for it - but maybe a bit dirty. Dynamicdrive is a good site for scripts of the nature you might be looking for - using absolute positioning etc. But with all of this there's the nightmare of cross-browser support - depending on your target group of web surfers.

Image of a possible frame layout (page margins/borders = 0):

In IR ric you need to slice that section out if you want it to be separate from the rest of the layout. IR will create an appropriate table design to contain that small section unto itself.

After that, you can remove the image that got saved out in that table cell and replace it with whatever you want.

On top of the other suggestions given here, i'd also like to mention an easier solution -- using an iFrame. With CSS applied, it can be made to meld nicely into any design.

Thanks for confirming I haven't totally lost my mind (yet).

I suspected that because I could specify a URL (oddly enough) in the URL space and it would allow the first page to pop into that area. Then control by the directory side of the graphics to link up.

It does appear that Rick's suggestion will work best for me, with Dynamic Drive's "Scrollable Content" window. But for the sake of learning I'm willing to try anything thrown my way.

I'll assume that it I use the scrollable content window, I'll need to use another template for each page. Time to read up and learn.

Thanks again all. You're the best!
Ric
