Welp, I ran across a link to this forum as I was looking for some information on a photo editing process called DRI (Dynamic Range Increase), which is similar to HDR (High Dynamic Range), but seems to give a more natural-looking appearance than HDR often does. Apparently, DRI is a fairly easy process in PS once one knows what all is involved.

But the title of this forum got me curious, and I'll admit, caused me to feel somewhat intimidated too. Right now, I use PS for some photo editing work, but I use another product for most of my editing work, mostly because I've been using it for so long, and it does what I need for the most part. I've been finding out some cool things about PS that has made me to rethink my preferences, though, so I figure I need to learn more. Most likely a lot more.

My daughter is a computer artist and she uses PS as a medium for her art, but she doesn't edit photos much so she isn't always helpful when I have a question.

So anyway, I saw where there's a sub-forum for newbies, and even though I'm not really a PS newbie, I reckon that's where I'll be spending most of my time. Like for layers, for example. I don't know from layers. And whenever I try doing things with them I manage to foul everything up, so they pretty much remain a mystery for me. But I know they're important, so that's one biggie on my list.

There's more, but I think I've rambled for long enough. Look forward to seeing you on the boards.

Welcome Cooltouch, search all the forums when you have something that needs answers to.

And by all means ask questions.
Most likely you'll get an answer here fairly quickly from one of us, Photoshop Gurus a great resource to find answers.... enjoy the forums!

Howdy, pardner.

There's a lot of information you'll find throughout the place and a lot of people who'll help you out with your problems. Don't hesitate to ask.

Since your daugther also uses PS, have her register. We've had parent-sibling members in the past.

Enjoy the forum.

Howdeeeeeeee, and welcome. Thar is bunches of good stuff here to learn. You know, I've always loved that Texan accent. My father is from Kentucky, and we used to laugh at his britches, winder, and plyers. Have fun and ask them questions.
