Hi all

I am not the best in photoshop and have this image I need to work with provided by a client.

It needs to have a black background where there are larger pieces of white. So theres a circular bit, the bottom bit and 4 other small areas.

How would you do this? I've tried selecting by colour, but magic wand tool and also with a second layer of pure black and masking but I just can't get a finish they are happy with - it just needs to look like its naturally on a black background and part of this image.

Any suggestions?!

image attached.

Thanks

Magic wand tol 32...

Then click on a white space the hold shift in and click on the other white spaces then press delete.

Hope this helps.

Hi

This seems to be okay on the two larger areas (bottom and circular bit) but on the 4 smaller white areas it leaves a nasty white edge around the selection? Thanks! Like this attached ...

Thank you for your reply though!

Corel or Publisher user by any chance?

I don't mean anything, but learning a bit on Photoshop can help with emergency or special use for image fixes.

I hear you lol..

But there is a volume button somewhere, and these vids go on my youtube channel, most of my subscribers are of the younger generation hence the choice of music.

lol at Sam, I'll grab the bat hehe

I went about it in a different way, I used the 'Blend If' option in Layer Styles. Holding the 'Alt' key to refine the selection.

Kind of achieves the desired effect and another method in your tool box so to speak

I almost broke a finger trying to get to it!!!!

I wont make a vid, but I used a channel mask to remove the white and it worked great!
The slight faded whitish area remained, so I took it out using the pen tool. Comparing the two, I really prefer the faded white, it looks more like it supposed to be there.
