I have been working on a thing, and it´s getting better, now I need to know how to sharpen only the eye. The photo was already blurry to begin with so there is nothing to go back to. I have tried to select the eye and then use the unsharp mask, but that doesn´t seem to do anything. Any suggestions? /Vafann

Selecting the eye and sharpening is the way to go. You may improve it some, but you can't make blurry into sharp. What the camera captured is what you're stuck with.

Good tips. Really good. It is very much important to me. I am doing a work where i can use it and it will be better for my work. Again thanks for the tips.

cant you just take an eye from another image and blend it in on top using a layer mask problem solved

google image search brown eye find 1 you like drag pic into document lower transparency of layer transform it to the required posistion apply a layer mask paint out the parts you do not want adjust the transparancy back to how you like it and then the rest is down to you adjusting exposure etc for a cool effect click on the eye layer not the mask then go to image>adjustments>hue saturation click the colourise box and make the eye whatever colour you like View attachment 4693

your welcome I would recomend going on youtube or I believe there may be a tutorial on here explaining layer masks in much more detail check it out it will transform your work and can make things very creative Good luck

Du kan aldrig göra något som är oskarpt skarpt med Photoshop. Det funkar inte så ...

Sorry bout that folks... I'm just taking a wild guess here that Vafann is Swedish... :)
I'll translate:

The sharpen tools in Photoshop does actually not sharpen per se. What they do is accentuate contrast in the edges between dark and bright pixels and give the apperance of sharpness. So, an unsharp blob will only be an unsharp blob with more contrast and if you crank up the values in Unsharp Mask, Smart Sharpen, Highpass filter or what you may use, you will end up with a contrasty blob with halos.

Tack JGN! Jo jag har märkt det, det blir bara värre ju mer jag försöker skärpa till den. :)

Yes, the more I try to sharpen the eye, the worse it looks, I have tried to put another eye on it instead, but I didn´t do a very good job, it looks cut out and pasted in, which it is, I´m trying to use the eraser tool and blending modes, but still no good. I´ll have to keep trying. :)

Hmmm... seems I was correct in my assumption of nationality, "what-the-he**" .. :)
Well, that's nice knowing there are more Swedes on the board but let's stick to English in the forum. We can PM eachother in Swedish if you like.

Please don't use the Eraser. It will do damage to pixels and it's pixels you're working with. Use Layermasks as far as possible. It may be a bit hard to get your head around them but once you got the hang of it you'll wonder why you haven't always used them.

You're welcome, Vafann !
Satisfied with knowing I have managed to turn yet another Photoshopper away from the dreaded Eraser Tool !!! :)
