I once used shortcut keys to select an image after I erased the background, in order to put it into a different background. I cannot figure out what I did..

Anyone know?

Easiest is to hold down ctl/cmd and click the layer thumbnail. But when you delete in or outside the selection, the selection itself should remain active and all you need do is ctl/cmd + C, after inverting the selection that is, ctl/cmd + shift + I. First method you can do at any time to activate the selection of all pixels on any layer.

Paste, of course, is ctl/cmd + V.

Slowest way is, select the layer, Ctl + A, then Ctl + C, then Ctl + V.

Hope this helps.
