If you are just trying tp remove the face so you can replace it, I would just use the eraser tool. You will need to double click on the background first to convert it to a layer. After you have erased the face you can add another on a layer below the beard.

You can start by reading up on the Pen tool. It's wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, when I first tried to do this a while ago. I don't however remember the steps as my current Job has taken me from the graphics on my computer, to creating food dishes for hungry folks, these days.

Thanks for the replies guys - can you elaborate a bit more on how to add another layer below the beard?

I just received PS for my 21st last week, and am just getting to grips with layers and stuff.

Am a quick learner though ;)

Cheers Ryan
