hi, below the adv layout effect [for yellow marking] which i like it, so tell me how to mak the photo effect like this??? thank you!!!!

Welcome to the community ciwecom. [excited]

That cannot be done in PS without an extreme amount of work.
My guess is it's either Adobe After Effects, or a 3D program that was used.

I agree with theKeeper on this; was definitly made in some 3d program, but I was determined to find an easy way to do that on PS, although I should have been doing my homework instead [shhh] . So, I've found a way to do this without an extreme amount of work. This is kinda like a rough draft and it's not perfect, but I'm still working on the technique. So, here it is!
First, open several pics you want to use for the rings. Now, make a new document then drag over all the pics and line them up. (see #1) Take all your pictures, link them, then press ctrl+e to merge them. Then press ctrl+j to copy that layer. Next go to "filter" > "distort" > "spherize" and set the amount to 100%
Now go to "filter" > "render" > "3D transform" then take the sphere tool and drag a circle around the image. Now use the rotate tool and transform it (see #2) Next, erase the rendered sphere around the pictures. Then press ctrl+t to rotate the pictures around, and set opacity to 65% (see #3) Next, take the layer of all the pictures that you copied earlier and apply "3d transform" in a different manner. (see #4) Erase the rendered sphere and press ctrl+t, right click and select "flip horizontaly", then rotate it, and set opacity to 65% (see #5) Now you have a top ring of pictures and a bottom ring. Take each ring and line it up untill it looks right. (see #6) The extra rings are optional but to make these just repeat the above steps accordinly. (see #7) Finnaly for the last step open your person or object and cut it out - (you can do this either with the lasso tools, the eraser, magic wand, or the extract filter)- then place the person or object in between the top ring layers and the bottom layers.(see #8)
Finnaly, your done! Hope you can understand all this ciwecom!
And, as I said before this is just a rough draft so I encourage anybody who could inprove on this technique.
Hope you like it! :)

Finally, a practical application of that fandangled 3D Transform filter! :D Great little tutorial, p?tr??k. :}

Aaah yes, the ol' "3D Transform filter" trick! I should've known! :bustagut:

Excellent technique p?tr??k. Well done. :}

I never thought to use that filter because it's no longer installed by default in PS CS and up. It's now an 'extra' plugin. I think i'll reInstall it now though. ;)

p?tr??k... if you don't mind, could we take this excellent mini-tute and throw it in the "Photoshop Tutorials" board so it'll be accessable for good?

Hey, thanks Keeper! :D and you guys! I've always tried to find something to use 3D transform filter for.....the ressurrection has begun! 3[
Sure, you can put that in PS tuts board, thanks again! 8))

hahaa :bustagut: Let the assimilation, begin!!! 3[

Thanks Patrick. It should be up in a day or so. I have to extract it from here and recompile it. :righton:

Nice to see a skilled PS-user solving a problem like this :) and thanks for the tut p?tr??k!

Wouldn't it be possible to use the perspective transformation somewhere along the line to make it ...erhh... in perspective?

Also have anyone tried to create this effect using the warp effect in CS2?

/Moltas

Hey moltas, I did try doing this using the warp transform in CS2 and perspective transform too, but it was just much harder to get the right result. I spent along time tweaking and tweaking and starting over before I gave up on that approch. That AV Bros page curl looks preatty nice though....I'll have to try that. :)
