I agree with theKeeper on this; was definitly made in some 3d program, but I was determined to find an easy way to do that on PS, although I should have been doing my homework instead [shhh] . So, I've found a way to do this without an
extreme amount of work. This is kinda like a rough draft and it's not perfect, but I'm still working on the technique. So, here it is!
First, open several pics you want to use for the rings. Now, make a new document then drag over all the pics and line them up. (see #1) Take all your pictures, link them, then press
ctrl+e to merge them. Then press
ctrl+j to copy that layer. Next go to "
filter" > "
distort" > "
spherize" and set the amount to 100%
Now go to "
filter" > "
render" > "
3D transform" then take the sphere tool and drag a circle around the image. Now use the rotate tool and transform it (see #2) Next, erase the rendered sphere around the pictures. Then press
ctrl+t to rotate the pictures around, and set opacity to 65% (see #3) Next, take the layer of all the pictures that you copied earlier and apply "
3d transform" in a different manner. (see #4) Erase the rendered sphere and press
ctrl+t, right click and select "
flip horizontaly", then rotate it, and set opacity to 65% (see #5) Now you have a top ring of pictures and a bottom ring. Take each ring and line it up untill it looks right. (see #6) The extra rings are optional but to make these just repeat the above steps accordinly. (see #7) Finnaly for the last step open your person or object and cut it out - (you can do this either with the lasso tools, the eraser, magic wand, or the extract filter)- then place the person or object in between the top ring layers and the bottom layers.(see #8)
Finnaly, your done! Hope you can understand all this
ciwecom!
And, as I said before this is just a rough draft so I encourage anybody who could inprove on this technique.
Hope you like it!
