How to make my images look like this.....

I am trying to make my images look like these ones........
tried to use the invert tool but they look awefull..... can anyone give me some advice. thank you

Start with a image like this one.


Go to Image--> Corrections--> Invert (Sorry about German Version of Photoshop)
The result is an inverted image, like you've already tried.



The image looks now like a "Negative".

Just to add to Chris's response, you need a low contrast black and white image to start off with. A Ps shortcut to invert is Cmd/Cntrl + I. You can also augment with a curves layer.
