Hello...

I am using photoshop for years, mostly for photogfraphy...

Now I am working with different thing - I am editing my musical sheets, so I have a question:

What is the most efficient and fast way to erase my white backgroung - to remain just my black notes like the new visible layer - and a background will become white-grey-squares transparent? I have always the same thing: black notes on white background.

Magical background erase tool didn't seem the right thing for me, I've tried it...

Thanks for answer, I presume, there must be simple solution,

easiest way I would do it, is copy just the notes then delete all of layer and paste the copied notes (you will have no background save as png

Thanx, iDad...

Anyway, I found this solution via google:

First make sure your file has vivid colors i.e. Black and white (text black and background white, if not make it just to get the selection)

Now double click on your background layer to make it editable layer (it should be layer 0 afterwards)

Select a small part of your file's white area (or black area)

Go to Select > Similar.

since you have get the selection of all your area you chose, if its text you choose, select inverse and delete the white area, if its other way around, cut the text and paste it on to another page to see the result.

That is very easy and effective...

Bye

Yes, it is true... Except I didn't knew how to copy just the notes (select - similar)...

Anyway - thanx,

M

You can mask the white instead of erasing it, that way you can make corrections if needed (because it's non-destructive).
