How to make an image appear in the Custom Shape tool

Hi,

Open the image in Ps.
Remove the white background.
Command + Click the layers thumbnail to make a selection.
Choose the "Paths" tab from the layers Panel.
Click the drop down menu (on the upper right) and choose "make a work path", set at 1.0 and hit OK.
Got EDIT > DEFINE CUSTOM SHAPE > give your shape a name and click OK.
Done

1. Open image in Ps
2. Enlarge it to 400-500% with Bicubic Smoother interpolation.
3. Add Threshold adjustment layer with threshold level around 193.
4. Press Ctrl -Alt-2 to load image as a selection, invert selection.

Then everything like IamSam wrote(for Tolerance you can try some other values: 0,5 - 1 - 1,5 and choose the best one)
