i want to know how to make a letter logo that looks like the letters are hot metal or being forged. i am posting photos of the forged metal for the design. so everyone knows what i want it to look like.

also if anyone knows of any cool or urban letter style/designs that would be cool to see.

View attachment 30805Or you could take an image and write over it then use that as templet and get the effects you want with layer styles, real easy and quick, that was about 3/4 minutes at most. Maybe less. I wasn't paying attention to time.

Forged-Steel-w-Texture.pngforged-steel.pngHere's Fast Dirty and Cheap way? ...Otherwise, you might want to carve your Forged Steel out of Real PhotographsAnyway? ...Go into Your Styles Menu, and Grab One of the Hot Button Colors and go thru the Settings and Change the Main Color to Bright Orange. Then You can Add the Style to any Shape, Graphic or Freely Paint it on Your Canvas.Take Care, Tracy MapesHere is Layer Styles above With a Texture Set to Overlay. You need to Add Texture on a Layer above the Layer Styles because the adding of Texture in the Styles Menu is Over Written by the Emboss Effect. I Added a PSD File So You Can See it for Yourself.

Forged Steel JPEG.jpg

Added texture to Text by using "paste into" while text is selected
added yellow-white gradient Overlay to layer @ 0 degrees and "Overlay" Blending
added orange (ffe400) inner glow to layer on default settings
added orange (f9e15a) outer glow to layer @21 pixels "size"

For Solid yellow colour:

This may sound far fetched but I just used the patent I have that is called cow lol> in overlay mode and only have 14% opacity,it works .....tweaks needed, But you can get the idea.

That's pretty good Chit! The edges are a bit hard though. The color is a bit off.

Notice the color range here. I think this is what will sell this effect!
