How to Make a "Cookie Cutter" Vector Mask for Logo

Hello, I'm trying to create my own logo for my site, which fonts would be similar to this font: Urban Jungle

However, I prefer the more traditional stencil style of this font: Capture It

And I'd like to make the city skyline using a free vector image I found doing a Google search on "City Skyline Vector".

I would need to combine a couple or more skylines to extend across a word in the Capture It font. It seems I would need to create an inverted, transparent vector mask to superimpose over the bottom of the typeface so as to create a cookie cutter effect like the Urban Jungle font. Any help would be appreciated, as I am still a beginner with Photoshop. I'm using PS CS6. Thanks.
