How to get this effect with text

Hi guys,
I'm working on a logo for a band called MONSTER VIOLENCE and
they sent me example of how they want the text laid out. Does anyone know
how to get this effect?

The bottom of the text is unchanged but top looks like a circle is indented into it.

Create your text , rasterize , and in EDIT > TRANSFORM > WARP.....

looks to have a 3d effect to the letters... you can do that in Repousse also
