Hi. Im new to photoshop but have decided to try make my own wallpapers for friends and myself. I have this wallpaper that i love and want to replicate the effects on the angel statues. I love the faded to dark and highlighted light spots but have no idea how to do any of it. I had a look and a few attempts but nothing came remotely close.

Any help at all will be appreciated :)

open this a visual of the layers will help big time, mind you this is very crude layout , done in about 5 seconds play around with it ......but be careful..... YOU MIGHT GET HOOKED!View attachment 27822

My approach was to take the original angel image, remove its background, desaturate, add a Levels adjustment layer then move it into a larger document with a black background and re-size and place it where I needed it.
