Hi, I'm newbie in Photoshop and I'm working on T-shirts designs. Does anybody know how to create this distressed, worn out like look as is on the picture? I'm stuck with this, trying to find the easy way. Please help.

Thank you

All that is, is this pictureSouthampton-Publick-House-Double-White-Ale.jpg
With a little bit of white added on top smudged a bitsimiliar.gif
obviously there's little bit more white on your picture than the one I did

Hi, I don't know why, but the smudge tool is not doing anything. I click smudge, then choose color and going over pic, but nothing. What do I do wrong?

Use the paint brush, forget I said smudge tool that was just a figure of speech

Hi florida2001,

This is an addition to what iDad is explaining.

Open your original in Ps.
Duplicate the original.
Add a new layer and fill with white. Move this layer between the original and it's duplicate. This is so you can better visualize what your doing. This layer can be turned off if needed.
Add a layer mask to the duplicate.

Using black as your foreground color and with the layer mask bracketed (white brackets around the mask) (click on mask) use your Brush Tool (with a variety of brushes) to add the stress marks to the image. You can always use white as your foreground color to cover mistakes or fine tune areas.

I made these simple stress brushes for you: View attachment StressBrushSet.abr

This is real fast and looks bad, but you get the idea.
