How to create light glow effect from background?

I want a red light glow effect to pass through the black area from the background? How to create this effect, please help

Hi,

I want the light to glow from the black strip, assume that black strip as opening.

something like a light coming out from the hole

Very easy.

Convert the black strip to white and place it on it's own layer. (Black does not glow that well)


Add an Inner and Outer Glow layer style, adjust to your liking.

Something like this effect, but through bottom
