Hey guys, I'm a newbie to photoshop and had a quick question.

I've attached a picture of the kind of font and box I would like to create. I'm not sure if this is simple or something but I'm not too familiar with photoshop so if anyone could please instruct me on how to create this it would be great!

Thanks a lot! :)

Hey yeah the second ones perfect! Could you explain how to do that? Also, is it possible to make the shadow even lighter? And sorry for double posting I'm not quite sure how to edit posts here.

Here is the psd to help you understand ... I hope. If you have any questions, just come back and ask. My method uses a bevel and an inner shadow to create the shadow 360 degrees around.

1) type your text
2) duplicate it, ctl/cmd + J and change the text color to white
3) add a stroke (how much depends on size of your text) and change the stroke color to white
4) create a layer below this white text
5) merge these two; click one, control click to select the text layer as well; ctl + E to merge
--- this is like rasterizing the text and the layer effects so that you can now add more effects that wouldn't show up otherwise
6) now add layer effects to the white text only
--- you will see in the psd that I used the bevel to create a shadow in one direction and the inner shadow to create it in the other
--- open up each layer effect and you will see what I did with the opacities of the shadow modes; I also decreased the opacity of the layers themselves. Just play around with that to your satisfaction.

Incidentally, I only created two text layers, a separate one for days, in order to play with effects. You won't need to do that.

Hope this helps
