How to create a color-filling effect in a GIF

Hi there. I guess the image describes it all. I would like to create a color-filling animated alphabet GIF in Photoshop. I'm new to Photoshop so any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Watch this video. Instead of a glare, make it a solid color.

Your version should look like this...........

White Background layer.

Text layer in a very light grey color.....

Then on a new layer, a solid color rectangle.......

Then select the Rectangle layer and right click, select "create clipping mask".

Now start the frame animation as is shown in the video.
