I need to convert colour images of vehicles to monotone images. When done correctly they will look like the car has been primed in preperation for painting.

Conversion to grayscale does not do the trick.

Does anyone know of a tool, method, ??? That will accomplish this.

All suggestions greatfully received.

Hi and welcome , albeix.

You were halfway there.... After converting to grayscale, convert back to RGB and create New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation set to colorize. Use the Hue slider to select a new color. Use the Saturation and Lightness sliders to adjust the saturation and lightness of the pixels.
