Yup....it will work and give you those results. I prefer to use the quick selection tool, I used a different layer for the cab, shirt, and flag and when I liked the result I compressed the layers..I did this in 2 min or less. But no matter how you select...you need to adjust.

I've always been able to play around with those controls and turn a flower into a rainbow, but I never actually did understand the controls.
