Hi,

Can anybody tell me how to change the fabrics in curtains on photoshop?
I can change it so there is a block of a different fabric but it needs to be more transparent so you can see the curves and folds in the curtain in the origional picture but I do not want to see the orgional fabric. Is there anyway of doing this?

Thanks

There may be myriads of ways to achieve this in PS.

But it would be a good idea to start with light colored curtains as the image to be edited.

To give you a basic start, you need to isolate the curtain on a new layer. drag your texture into the document above the curtain and create a clipping group. You then play with the layer modes. in my example I used Multiply.

You may have to isolate and assign each curtain section to layers (ie. frills, curtain ropes, etc) and do the steps above on each layer to apply new textures.. To change color, apply a hue and saturation adjustment layer above the texture layer.

Again , there may be many ways of doing this depending on your image. Other members may have different techniques... just hang on.

Hope this starts you on your way.

I noticed that my fabrics were changing colors, particularly the blues, greens, and purples. I first noticed this when my pale green pillowcase was turning... pink? It definitely was not from bleach or anything, this was happening over the course of a few nights on my bed. !!!!!!!
