How to attach the text to a path ?

How to attach the text to a path ? I know the basics but i want to know more on it Like hwo to control it, flow, dorection etc.. .I attached my attempt source psd. Any help will be highly appreciated

Using your file, with the path direct selection tool select the path. Hover over the black dot and icon will change to an I beam with a black triangle. Hover above the dot and the triangle will face right, below and it will face left. There are actually two handles and this tells you which handle you are controlling. Left click and drag up or down to move them which changes the location of the font. Drag the handle in towards the center of the circle to move the type inside the path, out outward to move the type outside. The path

Hover means to move you cursor over a particular point..... In hawkeye's instructional - the black dot.

Like on this post of mine... with your mouse, move the pointer over the text of my post... it changes to the I-Beam.... same goes with PS.
