How on earth do you make this?!

Hi stumbled across this site http://www.realityslip.com/rs.htm and was utterly amazed at the graffix ok seen that kinda thing before but i have always wanted to learn how to make it the stuff on the right and not only that but also the centre thing where all the content is how do you make something like that any suggestions/tutorials would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

New to all this myself (Hello everybody! ):-)
Their are quite a few pipe/wires and tentacle tutorials roundabout Which can probably be adapted to get the twisted tube effect.

The depth of field I would guess you could do any number of ways. Stroke a path with the blur brush, or duplicate the layer - blur and then do a graduated blend.

No idea how you would go about doing the flash stuff on the left, but the artwork looks pretty simplistic which gives it a nice clean look.

While you probably could build something like that with just drawing, assuming you have some decent artistic skills, the chances are that it was designed in a 3D application.

You probably won't find any tutorials on making the exact elements involved on that page. Although, as Chicken said, you can find tuts that mimic the various elements - tentacles, wires, etc.

That is an amazing site. The Flash work is stunning. These are definitely professionals with tons of experience. Another awesome Flash-based design is Ryan Lacdao's fxZone

that is very nice to i have seen it before and was hugely impressed, its so clean. These 2 sites especially arent making me feel to good lol theyre so amazing i feel im hopeless lol and i dont know where to start to be able to do things like that ahh well.... [confused]

It's not a contest, M-I-5. You do designing because you like to do designing. That's one person's style, and another's, and then there's yours ... everyone has different abilities and styles.

Another thing, don't pick a totally stunning design and expect to emulate it at a beginner's level. That's like wanting to learn the piano but kicking yourself cause you don't play like Beethoven.

thats quite a good way to put it but the reason i want to emulate it is because that design is just incredible lol or thats what i think and im not sure what steps to take to be able to do designs as good as that in the future...

You missed my point completely. I'll try one more time ...

You should develop your own style, not someone else's. Ok, fine, you admire that particular design. That's cool. But that's their style and you have your own. When you practice enough your own designs will one day become something someone else will admire.
