here's a picture I came cross and since am playing around with PS and trying to learn, would like to know how is this done. Make sure to begin with the basics for this since writing up the process in hardly two lines won't help me much! ...

Start with a black background. Type your text in white on a new layer. Set layer to 5-10% opacity. On another new layer, type the text "LIGHT". Apply the layer style "Outer Glow". Select a yellowish color set to screen @ 100%. In the "Elements" dialogue, select "softer" for technique and drag the "size" slider until you get the effect you like.

I'm trying to type in Arabic but for some reason the letters are not connected! ... was working fine last week ...

anyways I did it in English instead and thanks for the help ... btw, I just hate it when some of the effects/textures are lost while saving as JPEG file :/ ....
