How has he done this ?

I did a rolling dice over a table a while back ago and used the 3D features of PS CC and a bit of tinkering I got a good look. dice.png

This is one of those things that looks more difficult than it really is, if I was to do this same picture to look as realistic as posible I'll just prop the
"dice" on a table and take pictures and use photoshop to add them in. Some things are better done this way.

Thanks. But that doesn’t show how he has done it with the dice ?
Yes it really does. You just need to think about the process and be a little creative.

You need to photograph the game tiles using the same background and lighting, then photograph the subject slightly out of focus in the same background. You can also add blurs with Ps.

I would use a skewer stick and a glob of clay to hold up the tiles in different positions while photographing. This way you ensure the lighting is the same.

The rest is done in Ps. The one thing I see all the Photographers doing is using the Erasure Tool...........don't do that, use a layer mask instead.
