Ok, I see this guys work in H&M and other magazines. I love his skin tone, and the rich, muted colors of the skin, hair, landscape, clothes etc.
How does he do this? from the color overlay, to textures, over all color of everything in the image?
No one I asked seems to know. even a few people I know that went to college for design
Thanks

Re: How does Famous fashion Photographer Peter Gehrke get this color style? Not Easy.

He is a pro so i can guarantee that there is at least one person standing there with a reflector and umbrella. its all about the lighting. a little bit about white balance and some post production . See that glow on hairs on 2, 3 and 6? that's back light from either natural light or a light source, person in counter with front light to avoid shadows. go out on sunny day take one of thees http://rickward.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/105-5in1-reflector-board-mini1.jpg with you and try to shot with shallow depth of field. Small enough to make the person sharp but blur the background. use flash ( probably not the camera build one, because they usually have almost on settings available ) and the reflector board to remove unnecessary light for the face and body. make it golden in post production. im sure that after couple sessions you will get it right. there is no perfect way to replicate that. you just have to try by yourself several time. he did ;]

I agree, I would think 95% of what you're seeing is a result of good pre-planning, lighting, etc.
