How do people take sharp crystalized SCREENSHOTS of games!?

I seen screenshots of games that are amazing and have like this high quality crystal clear like quality.
Heres an example : www(.)valvesoftware(.)com/games/l4d2(.)html see their screenshot there...How do they do it? I always wondered.

That image is form the developer of the game. They are going to be able to do more than the end user of a game can. It may not even be a screenshot, because the developer has access to the 3D models and could easily set up custom scenes for marketing images.

To get the best results taking screenshots yourself, it is going to depend on your video card and the video settings in the game. To get the best screenshot, you need to be able to have all settings on max and have a video card that can handle it. Then just take a screenshot as normal (Prt Scr button). You could also try something like FRAPS or SNAGGIT, but I don't think they will get you much better quality.

Well actually if you want to take a high quality screenshot fraps will give you a much much much higher quality screenshot, if you use fraps I recommend taking the screenshot in .BMP format as this will take an uncompressed true to life screenshot, where as prnt screens take compressed jpeg's which are ugly.
