How do I smooth out the edges in this logo?

I'm making a new website for someone and I'm trying to learn some graphics as I go along. I'm more of a programmer. I am looking forward to learning some tricks from the pros in here. So I took some of the logo from her old site and I figured out how to make everything behind the logo transparent. Now that I've done that the edges are a bit jagged. I want to make it look nice and smooth.

Anyways I attached the logo so you can see. I just want to make it look nice and smooth. Thanks!!

Hahaha...

Well no one will see it if it's white on a transparent BG.

Upload it with a black bg so we can see it.

Try to do following in photoshop/gimp. Apply a slight blur to it, if you use the option gaussian blur no more then 5x5 pixels, i would say if its the logo is that size more like 3x3 pixels, and then select in the enhance option "unsharp mask", and use high quantities of the options you get. If you need any additional help, let me know

I know, I've been rolling on the floor. Dane, sorry, don't take offense. But most of us do have the forum set to a white BG, so your reiteration that it was right there above the text was pretty funny.

Inkz, you can actually change the forum appearance. I prefer the white BG, but if you go down to the bottom right, on the nav bar, there is a field with a drop down that says PSG Fluid or Fixed. Click the drop down and there's one called Dark. It switches pretty much instantly if you want to try it out.

The best way to recreate this logo so that the edges are smooth is to trace it with the pen tool. The reason for the jaggies is the size and resolution. If you use the pen tool, that won't be an issue.
