Hi, I've been going through some tutorials that say I need to put a lens flare right in the centre of the screen, but whatever I do, its always a little bit off. Is there a way to put it exactly in the middle?

Yup, try this...

Fill a layer with black; that will contain the lens flare.
Add a new layer above that and put a small white dot anywhere on it. Then cut & paster that dot back into its layer. That will center it perfectly.
Now merge down the dot layer into the black filled layer.
When you now apply the flare filter, just click the mouse on the white dot you see in the filter preview window.

Pretty simple, but works every time. :righton:

Hiya Loon.

You could create the Lens Flare in a slightly larger file than the one you are working in. Create the flare as near centre as you can guess.
Bring this layer into your working document and the extra size means you can nudge it into dead centre.

You can figure out what the dimensions of your document are and determine what the center XY values are. Then when you go into filter>render>lens flare if you option+click the preview (should be alt+click for you windows folks) you will get a little dilalogue that allows you to type numerical coordinates in for the flare center. Just put in the center coordinate of your document and voila.

Welcome to the forum Loon! :)

As you've just witnessed, there are multiple ways to accomplish any task in PS! ;) All good responses guys! :righton:
