How do I make a website with photoshop and dreamweaver?

I want to be able to make a website with a secure credit card payment method built in. Am I right in saying that I have to create the page layout in photoshop and use dreamweaver to make it into a website.

Does anyone know how I can do this? Or are there any books that would explain it?

You could try:

Create a Sleek, High-End Web Design from Scratch - Psdtuts+

followed by

Build a Sleek Portfolio Site from Scratch - Nettuts+

for example.

Also, have a look around for tutorials on splicing images then importing into dreamweaver.

You may also benefit from using a template (CSS maybe) and getting used to basics first.

You should be ok so long as you have patience and time. Web design isn't as straight forward as you may think.

o.k so do you have to design each page by photoshop and add buttons and links with dreamweaver? Also what is CSS?

i recomend first understanding dreamweaver and the conversion. then start.

believe me its easier, i tried to get right into it last year and i spent more time fixing errors than making the site.
First read about dreamweaver, then learn CSS and what HTML and PHP is. then for secure credit card payments, i beleive you are going to need a database. so building your site in dreamweaver isnt recommended, probably build your site in Programming language like C#

I agree with Crzygrk, it sounds like you need to learn a lot of basics first. Essentially you are asking, "how do I race Formula 1 cars" when you haven't even had a driving lesson.

Start with simple stuff first. I think you are looking at at least six months of learning before you can achieve a simple version of what you are after. All depends how much you want to put in. If you don't know what CSS, PHP is etc, you have no chance of making the site you want.

Be patient. It will come.
