How do I get this effect?

I got 2 pictures here one photoshopped and one is the original. I was hoping there would be some one on this board that could tell me how to create this effect.

That could probably be done with one of the filters save the image and check it out.

i actually got this exact effect by bumping up the contrast.
do this by going to Image> Adjustments> Brightness/Contrast and playing with the sliders to get the desired affect.
To get this one just leave brightness the same and put contrast to +65

duplicate your layer 3 times, and set them all to hard light-and you get the exact thing

i would post my end result but apparently i cant yet. XP

Yes, it appears to have a blend mode of either Hard Light or Hard Mix with lowered transparency/fill.
