You can drag your selection from one canvas to another using the move tool or simply go to edit>copy or control+c from the original selection, then go to your new background, edit>paste or control+v. If that's not what you're asking, please be more specific.

I am talking about something like this...Can I do this with magic eraser tool or do I have to cut it myself. And how did they put the basketball player on that background? I have a nice background picture of the jungles and a pic of myself in the backyard.I want to move my pic in the backyard to the jungle..

You are mixing up different command and tools of photoshop. magic eraser tool erases pixels in a similar color range, thats its only purpose. like if you have a single color BG you can use magic eraser to erase that color in a single click.

If you want to move your image to another document just use copy/cut and paste it in the document you want. (this is the simple copy-paste) or you can drag the image by clicking and holding the click and dragging the image to the other document, the result would be the same.hope this helps.

Re: How Do I Cut Off A Person And Place Them In A different Background/Setting/Scener

just want to ask
have you been using a computer for very long?
i ask that because copy and paste is common to any program not just photoshop.
so if you cant find copy and paste in photoshop my guess is you need to also learn the basics of your OS

Re: How Do I Cut Off A Person And Place Them In A different Background/Setting/Scener

Copy and paste on the computer is different than it is adobe photoshop cs5. I don't have to go through the edit option all I have to use is the mouse and click right to copy and click right again to paste... And like I said I am a newbie to this photoshop stuff...

Re: How Do I Cut Off A Person And Place Them In A different Background/Setting/Scener

Copy and paste is not different in photoshop ctl/cmd + c and ctl/cmd + v. Select all might be confusing you. ctl/cmd + a.

Same.

Also, the instructions you've been giving assume that you have already removed the background from the original picture. Have you extracted yourself, removing that background?
