How do i change the background ?

How do i change the background of this image



to something like this. I can ask someone else to do it but i want to learn how so that i can become better at this .

Step 1 - Isolate the box by making a selection.
Step 2 - Add it to the background.
Step 3 - Blend to the background.

Step -1 Use whatever technique or method you are comfortable with to make a selections around the box.

Step 2 - This will be the most difficult. You have to find an image of a surface such as a table or counter top that is in the same perspective as the box. You have some minor adjustments you can make with free transform, but the perspective needs to be almost exact. It also needs to have the same directional lighting as the box.

Step 3 - You will need to add shadowing. Long shadows, refracted shadows and contact shadows. This can be done using Drop Shadows in layer styles as well as creating a black "silhouette" derived from the selection of the box on a new layer that can be converted to a Smart Object and used as a shadow.
