I have CS5 and I am trying to work on a logo for my production crew. I just want to slice the text in half and move the top half a little to the left and the bottom half a little to the right.

Any tips?

Firstly make a copy of your text layer then rasterize said layer then take the rectangular marquee tool isolate top half of letters then layer via cut and slide the letters side ways.

Start with duplicate text layers, then You can mask both the top and bottom half's and move or transform the 1/2 letter As you can see the masks were done with rectangular marque and filled with white...I can move them anywhere, sandwich another layer if wanted...lots of different ways to go.
