Good evening everyone! There was a need to print documents of the pre-revolutionary period, but the quality is not very good.... The document is quite dark, and written in it when printing is poorly visible. And the main problem is that the paper shines through the text on the back. When I add brightness, the document naturally becomes lighter, but at the same time the handwritten text is highlighted. I add contrast-the text naturally appears, but also what shines through from the back side, is manifested in the way that it is lost handwritten text. Tried to work with curves-well not really at me it turns out...(I'm quite the teapot) Can someone tell me how to still do to what is written was seen well, and what shines through, was not visible? I will be very grateful for your help...

I think you should edit images using online photoshop and it will need no download. Just go to website and upload image and start making new things.

Is there a chance to see at least fragment of image we are talking about? That would be much easier.

If you can scan the those documents once again do it with some black backing as decribed here:
https://www.brainarama.com/thought/...-bleed-through-for-double-sided-document-scan

If you can't try this technique:

Open your image in photoshop and add curves layer above scan.
using Ctrl+Click mark 3 places on curves line:

step_01.jpg

and then modify curves like this:

step_02.jpg

Not perfect, but maybe helps a little ;)

EDIT: here as a bonus is result of using color deconvolution:
