Dear all, I took this photo and want to have light coming in through the window:

Here is my best attempt using gradient in white with noise added to reduce banding. Not really pleased with it though:

Please feel free to edit the original to show me what can really be done!:rocker:

Thanks

You may find something like this better
http://www.obsidiandawn.com/light-beams-photoshop-gimp-brushes

Light beam brushes

create on a new layer angle the brush in the direction you want the beams to be aiming down using the brush angle control in the brush panel accesible by going to Window > Brushes you will see a direction section

paint on where you want the beams

then in blending options go select outer glow and keep the default colour maybe reduce opacity slightly

then reduce opacity of overall layer

apply a mask to mask out bits you dont want effected or to fade it in certain areas

Wow Hoogle! Never seen this before! :)

Will try it now, certainly looks like a good option. Thanks for taking the time to help me. Can you describe how I would fade areas?

Thanks again,

Paul
