how can i get this lil wayne effect?

alright,
well heres the image.

what im tryin to do is to achive the way the background blends into the shading of the image.
i dont know if you get what im saying but look at the image around his arms.and also the lighting of the image.
ive been trying to get that type of shading to work, but i cant.
sum help plz?

Maybe im blind but i dont see anything, What you can try to do is wear a shirt the same color as the background and do an Image>Adjustment Layer>Selective Color
