Dear gurus,

Pretty basic I suppose, but I can't figure it out. I hope I'll be able to explain as good as possible. I would like to have a let's say black layer, out of which I would cut out a square, through which I could see a part of the photo which is located on another layer. Something like a photo. How can I do that?

Thank you for your time :)

Hi, are you trying to create a photo frame ? if yes or no then follow this method :

1. Open the JPG in Photoshop
2. Create a new layer
3. Set the foreground color to Black
4. Press Alt+Backspace
5. Create a Rectengular Selection to the area you want to delete
6. Press Delete

Hope this helps.
