how can i create photoshop gradient on background image


Hello and welcome to PSG.

What you have in your example is not created it's a blurred photo of a sunset. Are you wanting to know how to create a similar effect as in your example that's not created with the Gradient Tool?

Please be a bit more specific.
 
thank you for soon reply..i want to know how to put dark to light colour gradient on background image... Then i want to type on dark area

When i using gradient there have some edge..(Light colour side) That light colour side should mix with background colour on that area..

You need to use a Foreground to transparent gradient preset.......

There seems to be some confusion. The video you posted was about a vignette. And now your asking about a linear gradient. I don't know how to answer you.
 
You can apply the vignette effect just to the bottom of an image. I would use the Brush Tool.
