Though simple to do in versions prior to CS 5 I can't seem to figure how to do this now: How to view 2 or more images at once--side by side.
The reason for wanting to do this are:
-1- Comparing 2 images
-2- Dragging and dropping from one image to another.

Thank you

OS: Windows XP SP3

If you could do this in versions prior to CS 5, you also can do it in CS 5

Simply change the Canvas size make it bigger so that you can put 2 or more images side by side, then merge the layers and it is done.

Thanks for your help buddy.
There is no canvas size to change/ Or at least not one that I can see. While in previous version one could go to the right hand corner of any photo and click on either 'minimize' [the little minus sign] or 'restore' [the little logo with one frame on topo of the other]. No such thing exists now. All there is is an 'X' to close the window
It seems to me that you either don't have CS5 or that I am clueless (the more probable of the 2)

In photoshop CS 5 if you open images, they will be docked side by side... see attachment with RED line and arrows shows image 1, image 2, so on, you click on any image and drag down, then you will see three options on right top corner, for minimize the image ( with little - minus sign ), x for close the image

For canvas size option
Press CTRL + ALT + C and Canvas size dialogue will open OR This option is also available if you select and click on IMAGE
