Hi, I'm excited to have joined the forum. I am a recreational photographer and I enjoy editing my images -- for the past few years, with a very outdated photo editing software. I haven't even bought Photoshop yet, but will soon. In the meantime, I'm reading up on it when I have the time, and have purchased a used copy of the Missing Manual on Photoshop CS5.

So, I am the newest of newbies and look forward to respectfully benefitting from the knowledge of all you experienced Photoshoppers! And... when and if I've actually gotten enough experience, I hope I can share it with others.

There is a free clone of Photoshop that you could download and use if you want to get started. Not as good as PS but a very nice alternative tho.

You can still download a PS trial version, so you can get used to the UI and some of the tools, that makes this program an amazing and indispensable piece of software for photography and graphic design
