Hi I'm Ryan

Hi, my name is Ryan. I am very new to PS and know very little. I have completed 3 projects thus far, two of which I used online walk-thrus to complete. I am here to learn more. My biggest quandary right now is making selections. I do not know the best way to make a selection. There has got to be an easier way than manually tracing! I am about to go ask this question in the newcomers forum. Here are the two things I have made:
