I am very excited to join this forum as I am a newbie to the photoshop world. There is so much I need to learn and I am excited to do so. I already have a question. Is there a way to remove the pacifier in this picture I took of the newborn baby? Thanks in advance for any help!

This would be a monster task and would likely not look like this baby. I think your best bet would be to use another photo of the child's face, make a rough selection, transform it down to the approximate right size and angle (you'll probably need to use the warp function and if you have CS5 or 6, puppet warp) fit it to teh face as close as possible, apply a layer mask, brush the edges to "melt" into the face, and use the transform tool again as needed. You can go back and forth with paint on the layer mask, black to make transparent and see the pacifier that needs covering and how to line up the nose, chin, etc., and use the white to fade your "repair" piece in. Use relatively low opacities for blending.

Thank you so much for your help. That was what I was afraid of. I will try what you said or if mom is willing, just try to take the photo again. Again, Thank you!

You're welcome. And yes, taking the photo again would be so-o-o-o-o much easier and prevent the warp feature causing the features to look warped, lol. Unless you really want the practice and it's good for that! But maybe not for baby & mom. Good luck.
