Hi everyone!

I'm just a photoshop newbie trying to make an animation for a project.

My question is how do I adjust the brightness of only one frame of an animation? It seems when I select image > brightness adjustment and change something it changes the brightness for all the frames.

Thanks,
InfinityQ

select from layers menu not time line, make sure only that layers is open (you'll see eyeball)

Hi Q,

Ok...............I will assume that you have created an animated GIF using the tween function. I assume this because if you had created the animation one layer at a time then you could just select the layer/frame you wanted to edit from the layers panel and make an adjustment.

Using the the tween function, it does not create layers in the layers panel and therefore any adjustment you attempt to make to the frame will be applied to all frames within the timeline of the entire animation.

Here's how to edit one frame at a time without affecting the others.

1. Go to this menu of the timeline.....

Edit1Frame01.jpg

2. Choose "Flatten frames into layers". This will add the layers to your layers panel.

3. Go to your layers panel and choose the layer you wish to edit or add an adjustment to, make sure the layer is "on" and highlighted/selected.............make your changes and your done.

This state change will not affect how the GIF animates, it only provides you the option of editing individual frames.
